Bethan has nearly 20 years’ experience in the gas industry having joined Transco in 1997. She joined Wales and West Utilities in 2009 when control centre activities moved across from National Grid after network sales and now heads up the system operation team. Her role includes ensuring WWU has robust processes, systems and competent people to operate the WWU gas networks, as well as having responsibility for long-term planning, future of energy, gas quality and DN entry. The role includes significant work with customers, regulators and other stakeholders to ensure WWU positively influences the development of industry frameworks and delivers customer requirements, including most recently to enable connection of non-conventional gas sources and to support the changing requirements of power station customers in response to the changing dynamics of the electricity market.
